attempted starting faceswap using python3 faceswap.py to no avail either.
It appears some libraries didn't link
neither the desktop icon it generates works either.
The GDbus complains about xfce.
I do run in Wayland on Gnome, however xfce is my default environment. I can log into xfce environ, reinstall there, and remedy this? or id their some thing i am not finding the forums. There doesn't seem to be a HUGE presence here so any info would be great!

To run via cli you will have had to activate your faceswap conda environment first a la:
conda activate faceswap.
The desktop shortcut adheres the the freedesktop desktop entry specification. Gnome and XFCE shouldn't give you any issue running the app.

FWIW the linux script is tested and implemented under Xubuntu, so XFCE should have no problem.

The install script does nothing complex (just downloads files and runs tasks that you could do yourself manually. You can open up the file to examine source). The only "manual" bit of work it does is create the .desktop launcher in your destop folder, but this follows spec.

At the point of getting GDbus errors, I would suggest there are more likely other issues with the system.
