Hi,
So I have the project files on a HDD which is an efficient old one, had it many years. My Win 10 installation is on a SSD and works very fast. I put the project files on the HDD as I was envisaging it would create large files and there was the most space on that drive, however I noticed the GPU use is not at 100% and I get sometimes this is not a reasonable expectation depending on what you are doing eg it might not have the data to use it that fast, however I noticed the HDD light is constantly flicking so I am curious is this just constantly wanting to access data then on the HDD? Would it speed up considerably if I moved those files to the SSD or maybe even make a RAM drive assuming that's still possible in Windows? It just took me 27 minutes to do 5000 iterations - card is GTX 908TI CPU is AMD FX 8350.
