Convert = PC Freeze

Post by lorenzosale »

Hello,

I have a problem with FaceSwap.

When I want to convert the video, my pc freezes and I can't do anything anymore, it's extremely slow (19h remaining ..) whereas I didn't do it before.

I really don't understand what is going on, I uninstalled faceswap and reinstalled the latest version but still the same problem. The training is going well but the conversion freezes my pc.

Do you know where it can come from?

thank you in advance for your help

It shouldn't be a big difference and should run relatively quickly. Is it a very large video? Did you include an alignments file for the video? Does it also go very slow when using the Preview tool?

Hello,

Sorry for late answer. I dont have the freeze problem anymore but, the conversion is still very slow.

I have 32GB RAM / Intel Core i9 3.6

I dont know what you consider a large video but in exemple, for a 1.23Go 17mn video (3840*2160) , it take about 3 / 4 hours to complete the conversion. I think the video quality matters a lot because for a slow resolution 17mn video, it takes very less time to convert.

Yes I included an alignment file for the video. I think I have a good PC config but the conversion is still slow and sucking all my ressources. Maybe it's normal, idk

Thanks for your help and have a nice day :)

Assuming you are converting directly to video, then most likely it is your FFMPEG writer setting. You have the preset set to "slow".

As a test, try doing a conversion using the OpenCV writer and see if it runs quicker. If it does, then you know that the issue is with your FFMPEG settings, so you will need to tweak those.

Here is the video details :

I don't think 14 hours is a normal time left ..

Any solutions around here ?

THanks in advance !

No, that is not right.

If you are able to share the actual video (PM is fine) we could at least rule that in/out as the issue.
