Question about training WITHOUT a mask

Post by martinf »

I think I read something here somewhere about this but I cannot find the right search terms to dig it up so here is my likely redundant question...

Is there any value in training without a mask? It would seem this might enable swaps with more difficult to fit face types especially in profiles. I know it will likely take a lot longer to train.

One reason I ask is because the Phaze-A 'zoo' training images appear to have been done without a mask. Am I right on that?

Thanks.

No, they were trained with a mask.

To be honest, it has been a long time since I trained without a mask (back when Faceswap still only had 64px models), so it may be worth a test to see how things perform.

My word is final
