Intel Mac with AMD GPU running in CPU mode

Post by jiroqodi »

I installed faceswap on an Intel Mac w an AMD Radeon 5300M GPU. I have faceswap running in CPU mode but can't get it to see the GPU. I tried following the suggestion mentioned in the Mac install thread. I performed a CPU install then later installed the tensorflow-macos and tensorflow-metal packages from Apple.

Faceswap now loads and runs but doesn't detect GPU. Anyone with a similar setup that can give me some advice? Thanks.

Intel macs are very different from the Apple silicon and aren't supported the same way. Since you have an AMD card you should try the amd install. But you could also try using ROCM.
